We aim to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy back to shopping by making TikTok the commerce channel of choice for merchants, creators, and partners. For years, TikTok has played a central role in the shopping journey for the Beauty category with #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt. Beauty is one of the most influential & fastest-growing categories at TikTok Shop, and we are looking for an ambitious and pragmatic Business Development Leader to step-change the pace of brand & seller acquisition to accelerate Category growth.
Role Overview
The TikTok Shop Beauty Team is looking for an experienced Category Team Lead to operate Beauty sellers and also lead a small team of category managers to help us build our business and drive the growth of our category. The Team Lead will develop the go-to-market strategy, prioritize key initiatives, lead a team of category managers, and own execution for their own accounts. They will be responsible for identifying the needs of the business, partnering with cross-functional partners and allocating appropriate resources to drive sustained growth.
Responsibilities:
• Own & operate seller accounts brand leadership engagement, joint business planning, and day-to-day content commerce execution
Manage a category team to acquire brands, distributors, and merchants to support category growth at scale
• Craft overall strategy to deliver growth for the business - define goals, identify opportunities and design approach
• Discover innovative collaborative models that align to merchants' short-term and long-term development plans, and invest platform resources effectively and efficiently
• Solve key challenges in business growth by strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
• Employ a consultative approach by offering strategic content, creator/affiliate/agency partner, merchandising, and logistical solutions to all clients
• Update clients on TikTok Shop product developments and new promotional opportunities
• Represent TikTok Shop at industry events and brand summits and foster long-term partnerships with brands that help scale the category
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in e-commerce business; a mixed experience in both platform side and brand/merchant side is highly preferred
• 2+ years experience as a people manager
• Proven track record of continually reaching and exceeding commercial goals such as platform revenue, merchant sales, GMV
• Ability to thrive in a rapid, agile, and often ambiguous environment with a growth mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in content-based e-commerce
• Strong network and connections with brands and/or retailers
• Prior experience P&L ownership and planning
• Ability to foster C-Level executive relationships with a genuine interest in customers' success
• Ability to recruit and retain top talent

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $136800 - $273600 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
