About Our Team
TikTok's UX team is responsible for the product design of the TikTok app. Our primary areas of ownership include the core app structure, social features, search functionality, creation tools, and design systems. By utilizing professional design methods and practices, our team aims to enhance the user experience and improve the efficiency of these products and areas.
Responsibilities
1. Design for TikTok, the creative short video platform targeting global users;
2. Work with cross functional teams, including product managers, researchers, UX writers and engineers;
3. Get involved in every aspect of the product development process, from ideas to pixel perfecting before launch;
4. Prototype rapidly based on conceptual product ideas, design user flows based on data analysis and user research, get feedback from different stakeholders, reiterate designs, and ship products with the best user experience;
5. Continuously optimize and be responsible for overall product experience.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Experience with UX and UI design, has led multiple design projects from strategy to launch, strong attention to detail;
2. Ability to rapidly iterate and produce a multitude of concepts;
3. Open-minded, welcome all feedback and be patient;
4. Entrepreneurial attitude, ability to deal with rapid changes and situations that are not ideal;
5. Great communication skills, ability to articulate your concepts, vision and decision-making;
6. A global vision and mentality actively pays attention to global internet products.
Preferred Qualifications
1. 5+ years designing UX for consumer-facing products across mobile and web, preferably content creation or consumption related;
2. Experience with A/B testing and data driven practice;
3. Experience working with multiple stakeholders across the org;
4. Mastery of design and prototyping tools;
5. A passion and enthusiasm for TikTok and its community!
