About the Team:
Our legal team provides key support for all TikTok's innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support.
As a result, we are seeking an experienced, bright and capable legal professional to join our Global Legal Content Moderation team. In this role, you will work on critical challenges in the areas of content safety, moderation and regulation. This full-time role provides a unique opportunity for an ambitious lawyer with a keen interest in learning about industry defining challenges and new areas of law.

- Work closely with our Trust & Safety Product teams in the US and globally and other in-house lawyers to provide legal advice on Trust & Safety Product matters .
- Lead on and/or support in-house lawyers to assess content regulations and laws, develop compliance strategies and support their implementation.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on content safety and content moderation strategies and matters.
- Work in a cross-functional environment with government affairs, communications and other business professionals on content safety, content moderation and content regulatory matters.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) with membership in good standing in a US State Bar
- Extensive experience advising technology companies as in-house or outside counsel on content moderation, content regulation and online safety.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven performance leveraging cross-functional teams and coordinating activities across multiple business units, organizations, and jurisdictions.
- Ability to work independently on many different projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to be flexible and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skill, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and cultures.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $202350 - $357390 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
