About the team
Our TikTok Search Operation team plays a key role in improving TikTok users' search experience by investigating user feedback, evaluating search result, analyzing data, etc.
In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.
Responsibilities
- Assess search quality: Conduct thorough assessments of search results, review and categorize different types of problematic cases to identify areas for improvement in search products and algorithms.
- Investigate user search requirements: Analyze data and gather user feedback to gain insights into user search needs and behaviors.
- Provide search optimization suggestions: Based on user investigations, offer recommendations for refining search results and improving algorithms to better meet user needs.
- Identify trust and safety risks: Help identify and assess potential risks related to trust and safety within search operations, ensuring user protection.
- Support policy improvements: Contribute to the development and refinement of policies that enhance search product performance and user satisfaction.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS or equivalent relevant experience
- Problem-solving skills: Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and a sense of responsibility in handling tasks.
- Attention to detail: Pay close attention to details, ensuring high accuracy in assessments and tasks.
- Fast learner: Quickly adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes, with a proactive approach to learning.
- Time management: Capable of working efficiently under pressure, meeting deadlines, and managing tight schedules (catch up with DDLs).
- Search engine familiarity: Have a solid understanding of major search engines, including Google, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Technical proficiency: Be familiar with common office software and tools used for task management and reporting.
- Cultural awareness: Possess an in-depth understanding of pop culture and demonstrate familiarity with users' internet usage habits.
Preferred Qualfications
- Search-related experience: Have prior experience working in search-related businesses or within other internet-based companies.
- Query review expertise: Demonstrate hands-on experience in query review, auditing, and analysis, ensuring relevance and quality of search results.
- Operational experience: Have experience in operations such as data labeling, gathering user feedback, content moderation, or similar roles involving user interaction and search optimization.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (hourly)
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $31.67- $51.28.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
