Team Introduction
The Global Monetization Integrity team ensures safe and quality experiences between users, creators, and businesses. The team is responsible for creating scalable and reliable solutions that allow TikTok users and businesses to interact in a trustworthy manner, always working to anticipate and protect against threats.
The Risk Arbitration Team is responsible for establishing ground truth on advertiser behavior, acting as an essential contributor to defining actor policies and products. Our Risk Arbitration Analysts support our efforts to identify and quantify complex and emerging risk signals. Risk Arbitration analysts review monetized content and work together with the Risk Arbitration Specialists to conduct investigative deep-dives into actor behavior. They serve as a key contact to stakeholder teams improving malicious actor detection policies and products, such as developing and briefing intelligence products to cross-functional teams and leadership, as appropriate, or collaborating in response to actions over a variety of security disciplines to disseminate information and reporting in support of TikTok's critical business and operational needs.

Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2025. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship start dates below:

Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-priority actor-level investigations requiring subject matter expertise.
- Leverage knowledge of marketing and advertising strategies to develop comprehensive methodologies to detect, monitor, and report on Influence Operations (IO) and Account Takeover (ATO) efforts
- Leverage internal and OSINT tools to uncover, track and memorialize adversary IO and ATOs within the ads and monetization space.
- Assess and provide recommendations for product, process, and policy improvements based on outcomes from content-level and account-level reviews.
- Evaluate actor accounts to ensure internal control systems are initiating appropriate actions, and proper operational steps are followed, by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of various models, mechanisms, and processes.
- Develop case details, analyze evidence, conduct RCAs, and present recommendations for internal actions to key stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Expert threat management skills including identification, prioritization, treatment, classification, and monitoring.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in analyzing data and identifying trends or anomalies to drive decision-making.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to conduct deep-dive investigations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for maintaining a high standard of work.
- Experience in risk investigation at a tech or social media company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a BPO / call center / customer service environment is a plus.
- Experience in project management is a plus.
- Current usage and interest in short video platforms.
- Knowledge of marketing and advertising strategies or platforms to support understanding of TikTok monetization platforms.
- Familiarity with online advertising platforms and understanding of digital advertising practices.
