About the role:
As a Program Manager on our EMEA Safety & Integrity team, you are the glue that ensures our policies, programs, and systems work together across our many apps to protect consumers and prevent abuse. You work to push projects and operational changes forwards, implement policy changes, and define new processes. You coordinate between product managers, operations teams, and policy specialists to actually get things done.
It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance.
This may occur in the form of images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.
What will I be doing?
- Develop processes and strategies for the Turkish market on TikTok, focusing on maintaining user and platform safety and integrity.
- Act as the bridge between Trust & Safety and other teams to foster collaboration and alignment.
- Leverage market knowledge to bring a local perspective to solutions and strategies.
- Monitor key metrics to assess market health, identify irregularities, and work cross-functionally to plan risk mitigation strategies.
- Proactively identify emerging risks and trends, improving detection mechanisms.
- Collaborate with Public Policy, Legal, Communications, PR, and core Trust & Safety teams to address government and regulatory concerns.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Content Policy, Product Management, Data Analytics, Operations, Risk, and Response) to resolve safety issues, enhance user safety, and optimize product features and strategies.
- Use both qualitative and quantitative methods to identify regional content risks, then design features and strategies to mitigate them.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Fluency in Turkish and English is essential, as you'll be responsible for the Turkish market.
- Strong understanding of the User Generated Content (UGC) landscape in Turkey, including social media trends and key challenges in the market.
- Experience in program, project, or product management, ideally in a safety, risk control, or anti-spam strategy environment.
- Comfortable working with large data sets and conducting in-depth analysis; familiarity with SQL is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively handle day-to-day challenges.
- Resilience and a focus on self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role.
