Responsibilities
The EU Public Policy Subject Expert Team provides cross-cutting policy advice on key public policy topics. The safety of our users, and the younger users in particular, is our key priority, and the minor safety lead will play a key role in continuing advancing our policies, products, and safety tools in this space. Our goal is for TikTok to remain a safe space for creative and joyful self-expression.
Responsibilities
- Work with colleagues in the EU Public Policy and Subject Expert Team to develop and execute a comprehensive European public policy strategy focused on the protecting the safety, well-being, security, and privacy of TikTok users.
- Drive the development of minor safety public policy for the European public policy and government relations team, including developing company positions, campaigns and collateral.

- Coordinate with regional colleagues to drive internal understanding of the policy landscape and deliver strategic insights on minor safety public policy issues and the potential impacts to the business to cross-functional colleagues
- Build and maintain a network of stakeholders across Europe, including policymakers, regulators, academic researchers, and NGOs, to track new thinking and key policy trends in minor online safety
- Partner with experts to further TikTok's understanding of, and response to, this critical issue, for example through driving research;
- In coordination with local policy teams, represent TikTok's mission, values and principles to external stakeholders, including media
- Monitor European legislation and policy initiatives relating to minor safety and engage with policy makers
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years experience working on online safety public policy (particularly about minors online);
- Deep understanding of, and expertise in, the key policy trends in this field;
- Superb written and oral communication skills;
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong network within the minor online safety community across Europe including UK;
- The ability to work in a dynamic environment with cross functional teams.
- Ability to help direct Tiktok regarding new trends and research in the area of child safety;
- External spokesperson experience;
