About the team:
Our Global Legal team provides key support for all TikTok's innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join the team. As a subject matter expert team in the Global Legal department, the Global Litigation team handles litigation matters involving TikTok in all the regions in which TikTok operates, including the United States. The following describes the responsibilities and requirements for the role.

Responsibilities:
- Handle general litigation, pre-litigation claims, and all related matters.
- Manage all aspects of litigation matters including e-discovery, fact-finding and analysis, witness preparation, depositions, case management conferences, motion practice, and arbitration or trial preparation and presentation.
- Supervise and partner with outside counsel to ensure that all aspects of the company's legal representation are of the highest quality, including the day-to-day running of matters, overall strategy, written work, and oral advocacy.
- Identify potential litigation risk and counsel the business to minimize exposure.
- Support the company's strategy for litigation and pre-litigation disputes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school.
- In-depth litigation experience in a combination of private practice and a corporate litigation department with a highly regarded firm and organization (tech or media, preferred).
- Substantive experience with legal issues related to consumer-facing technology required.
- Ability to research complex legal questions.
- Demonstrated judgment, personal integrity, and inter-personal skills. Strong ability to work as a team player who can effectively collaborate with colleagues from the Global Legal team and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills, including exceptional legal writing skills and the ability to craft persuasive and concise briefs.
- Member in good standing of the New York or California bar association or another bar association with the ability to register as in-house counsel in New York or California.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Nice-to-have experience includes internal investigations, government or regulatory investigations, intellectual property litigation, platform liability, consumer litigation, class action, or arbitration.
- Experience at or representing Internet technology and/or entertainment companies is strongly preferred.
