About the Team:
The Global Privacy & Regulatory Affairs team handles and oversees legal privacy and regulatory matters pertaining to TikTok's global operations. The team works cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders in the US and around the world to tackle some of the most complex, interesting, and cutting edge issues in privacy and security. We are looking for highly motivated, experienced, and bright legal professionals to join our exciting team.
Responsibilities:
- Identify business and product requirements resulting from engagements with privacy regulators and other stakeholders, and provide guidance and thought leadership on implementation of privacy controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as Product, Engineering and TnS to implement product and process improvements to comply with regulators' demands or requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-regional stakeholders on privacy program and policy development, compliance monitoring, communication strategies and incident responses.
- Counsel functions that conduct auditing and monitoring of the privacy compliance program.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- J.D. degree from ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) with membership in good standing in a US state bar.
- Experience working in an in-house legal department of a tech company or in a reputable law firm with substantial experience in tech, media, and telecomm work.
- Experience engaging with global data protection authorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and interest in risk management and establishing and enhancing enterprise-wide privacy compliance programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks effectively.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $140000 - $228000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
