About the Team:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Employee Relations Program Specialist to join our USDS (U.S. Data Security) HR team on a contract basis. In this role, you'll support our global ER function (US, UK, Australia) with a focus on enabling effective performance management processes, assisting with case documentation and tracking, and driving consistency across key ER workflows. You'll partner closely with HRBPs, people managers, and Employment Legal to ensure employees are supported with fairness, compliance, and clarity. Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of end-to-end performance management processes, including coaching managers, drafting/reviewing PIPs, and documenting developmental feedback.
- Collaborate with the ER team to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely documentation of ER case work (e.g. investigations, workplace concerns, escalations).
- Assist in the maintenance and auditing of ER data records; help track case milestones, SLAs, and outcomes to support ER reporting and business intelligence efforts.
- Translate 360 and manager feedback into written documentation that aligns with company values, tone, and performance standards.
- Ensure consistent application of internal policies, employment laws, and ER best practices across the business.
- Contribute to the development of ER programs, toolkits, and playbooks that support manager effectiveness and a positive employee experience.
- Participate in special projects that advance the ER function's strategy and operational capabilities.
- This is a 6-month contract payrolled through a third-party agency.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Employee Relations, HRBP, or HR Generalist roles with direct experience managing performance issues and employee concerns.
- Experience partnering with managers on coaching, feedback delivery, and performance development plans.
- Familiarity with ER or case management systems; comfort working with basic HR data and tracking tools.
- Working knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR compliance standards; global exposure (UK, Australia) is a plus.
- Excellent corporate writing, editing, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting tech, start-up, or hypergrowth environments.
- Exposure to ER or HR transformation projects, especially during times of organizational change or restructuring.
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and contributing to process improvements as the team scales.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities with excellent judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a calm, professional, and empathetic approach.

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (hourly)
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $42- $65.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
