In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. About the team:
You will be an integral part of the USDS Cyber Defense & Engineering team, responsible for enhancing security tools, identifying vulnerabilities, and comprehending the intricacies of our people and data within USDS. Collaborating cross-functionally with partners within and outside TikTok, our objective is to fortify our products and users' security, aiming to establish TikTok as the most trusted platform.
We are seeking a versatile, forward-thinking, and outcome-driven Data Analyst to propel our projects forward. In this capacity, you will engage with diverse technical and non-technical teams across various regions, contributing to the tracking and development of various initiatives aimed at crafting innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated problem-solving abilities, sound business acumen, and a track record of collaborating with multiple teams to successfully deliver projects. They should exhibit a genuine passion for safeguarding the security and privacy of our users.
Responsibilities
- Drive clarity and solve ambiguous, challenging business problems using data-driven approaches. Propose and own data analysis (including modeling, coding, analytics, and experimentation) to drive business insight and facilitate decisions.
- Dig into complex data sets and make sense out of them.
- Measure business performance, develop core metrics and create dashboards to track and
understand them.
- Generate actionable insights from data for partners to grow and help support them to drive better and faster decision making.
- Data processing and data quality validation to ensure the best possible data insights are driving the solutions.
- Build data pipelines, optimize ETL processes, ensure data integrity, and find opportunities to add efficiency and automation to everyday tasks.
- Partner with a wide range of stakeholders both within Technology and also with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 3-5 years of proven experience as a Data Analyst, Data science or Data engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science)
- Strong proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R)
- Excellent SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical skills to automate data pipelines for building dashboards
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Great communication and presentation skills
- To succeed in the role, you need to be a proactive, self-driven and impact driven person
- Experience in cyber security is preferred

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $86555 - $177777 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
