Content Protection Manager - SoundOn

About the Team
SoundOn is an all-in-one platform powered by TikTok, designed to better service music creators through each step of their career - from TikTok integrated promotion tools to global music distribution, from diverse monetization opportunities to smart music creation. SoundOn exists to give every music creator & label the power to authentically connect with new audiences and "do music" their way.

Responsibilities:
- Accountable for troubleshooting and proactively identifying any issues related to content protection, infringement, conflict, artificial streaming and other trust and safety matters among internal partnership teams, moderation teams, clients, DSPs and suppliers.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure the quality and safety of the SoundOn catalog, both internally and with 3rd party suppliers and partners.
- Establish and implement the SOP and roadmaps in line with the overall mission of our content protection.
- Monitor and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, providing strategic guidance to our partnership team, product team, and clients.
- Effectively communicate roadmaps, product priorities, experiments, and decisions for product and development teams, while identifying potential areas to enhance our product capabilities.
- Stay informed about global markets, industry trends, the competitive landscape, and internal product development efforts to ensure alignment with our goals.
- Provide expert guidance to SoundOn regions, artists and labels on how best to combat infringement and artificial streaming. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to maximize SoundOn content protection and safety infrastructure.
- Liase between counterparts both within SoundOn and the wider ByteDance organization in specialist area.
- Represent SoundOn internally and externally.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of work experience in technology, content protection and security within the entertainment industry.
- Deep knowledge of all metadata, operations and detection methodology in relation to copyright infringement and streaming manipulation.
- Strong ability to assess data to locate trends and patterns.
- Good understanding of rights management and conflict resolution.
- Previously established relationships with DSPs and UGC platforms.
- Deep knowledge of music copyright.
- Ability to present strategies with data evidence.

- Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally.
- Great attitude and incredible passion.
- Enthusiasm for people, technology, process, rights management and safety within music.

Job Information

[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $100000 - $160000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
