Responsibilities
The TikTok short video engineering team is responsible for building various kinds of new experiences for the TikTok app: content creation, social, open platform, user growth and PGC. This includes ensuring our systems are scaling to handle the ever-growing user base of TikTok and expanding our reach by making our tools accessible through our open platform.

As a member of TikTok Creator Monetization team, you will
- Be responsible for building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications.

- Work closely with product/operations and other teams to promote benign product iterations.
- Set long-term technical/business goals and break them down into an executable roadmap.
- Facilitate close collaboration between cross-functional teams, balancing the pros and cons to ensure engineering delivery.
- Guide technical solution design, helping team members grow and accumulate technical precipitation.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, proficient in at least one coding language, including but not limited to Go, Java, Python, C++, Javascript, TypeScript.
- Curiosity towards new technology and outstanding ability to analyze and solve problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related major.
- Good grasp of software engineering and how to build a system in scalable and extensive manner.
- Industry experience in a software development environment.
- Understanding of concurrency, database, and message queue.
- Experience in data analytics.
Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $119000 - $168150 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
