About the Team
The Global Communications team at TikTok is responsible for all external communications related to the company, shaping and amplifying the TikTok narrative to diverse audiences around the world. We are seeking an experienced media relations professional to lead our B2B and consumer communications efforts on a global scale. As the Global Communications Lead, you will be tasked with creating impactful media strategies and campaigns, managing a talented team, and collaborating closely with executives to ensure our media efforts align with key business priorities and resonate across regions. This role reports to the Head of Media Relations and Product Publicity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Execute Media Strategies: Craft and implement a comprehensive media relations strategy to build TikTok's brand reputation, strengthen consumer and B2B narratives, and advance TikTok's global business objectives.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and develop a team of media relations professionals with varied expertise, ensuring high-impact results across consumer and business media.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with key executives and stakeholders to create data-informed communications strategies that align with TikTok's business goals.
- Build and Manage Media Relationships: Maintain and nurture strong relationships with key media in consumer, industry, and brand trade sectors.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Provide media counsel and direction to cross-functional teams, including Sales, Operations, Creator, and Publisher teams, ensuring alignment with TikTok's messaging and business objectives.
- Integrated Communications Alignment: Work closely with larger Communications team as well as Corporate Social Responsibility and Marketing teams to ensure a consistent and unified media approach.
- Culture Building: Foster an engaged, high-performing team environment focused on growth, recognition, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 15+ years of senior-level communications experience, serving as a strategic advisor to corporate management on a range of public issues.
- Proven expertise in leading communications initiatives across consumer, business, and trade media, with a successful track record in issues management.
- Exceptional strategic, analytical, and verbal communication skills with an ability to craft incisive and clear publicity materials, including press releases and talking points.
- Strong understanding of the tech landscape, media dynamics, and current industry trends.
- Proven experience managing media relationships with journalists covering diverse, high-profile topics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree or equivalent experience required.

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $330000 - $510000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
