We are looking for motivated individuals interested in complex engineering challenges around one of the most important aspects of TikTok. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Mobile Engineers, Frontend Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists in a high-impact and fast-paced environment.
Our team is responsible for providing TikTok search users with first-class search experience by building a strong and robust infrastructure and platform to support product fast iteration and key feature development. In our team, you'll have the opportunity to take part in developing the key features on TikTok Search, understand how TikTok Search could be evolved to be a multi-billion-user product and first-handed experience how user request varies on this giant from time to time. As an Android Engineer on the Search team, you will:
- Create and refine high performance mobile apps that push the limits of mobile technology
- Work closely with our product team to conceptualize, develop, and launch new and innovative features
- Design, architect and implement well-tested Android software which powers Search experiences in TikTok
- Promote robust and maintainable code, clear documentation, and deliver high quality work on a tight schedule.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proficiency in at least one of these programming languages: Java, Kotlin
- Ability to understand and debug large and complex code bases
- Good team communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent majors with experience in native Android development
- Strong understanding of software development principles, capabilities and limitations of mobile platforms and Google clean Architecture is a plus
- Passion and experience building consumer-facing products is a huge plus; We would love to hear about apps you've developed!

Job Information
[For Pay Transparency] Compensation Description (annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $145000 - $250000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
