About the Team
As an Analyst in the Coordinated Networks & Scaled Abuse team, you will be part of a group that assesses, analyzes, mitigates, and prevents the spread of coordinated networks and large-scale abuse by sophisticated threat actors who wilfully violate our community guidelines and cause harm to our users.
You will drive the investigation and containment of coordinated networks, and profile bad actor account behaviours to generate insights to build data features, improve detection, and refine strategies for risk response.
You will work cross-functionally with policy, product managers, program managers, engineering teams, and other business partners to strengthen our detection systems, and improve account integrity.

Responsibilities
- You'll proactively search for and identify harmful trends and content by leveraging internal data, open-source intelligence, and/or third-party private intelligence
- You'll work with teams across Trust & Safety to review and respond to risky trends, escalations, and metric changes across multiple channels with high quality, accuracy, and speed
- You'll leverage tools to automate the control of bad content, to control bad content on the platform, and mitigate escalations
- You'll identify gaps, problems, needs and come up with robust solutions with relative independence
- You'll use learnings and data to influence other T&S teams in Product, Policy, Process, and Detection to make improvements to enhance the overall ecosystem
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- You have 4+ years of experience in investigative work within Trust & Safety, Cybersecurity, or Anti-Fraud, combined with program management experience
- You are comfortable with developing insights from data, and understand how real world behaviour translates into online behavior and the data generated on a social media platform. You are able to employ a hypothesis-based approach or evidence-driven investigation with SQL and network analysis techniques in a big data environment.
- You are able to communicate findings via written reports and presentations to explain the underlying risk, current gaps/weaknesses, containment strategies used, and recommendations for product or policy development.
- You have a collaborative and open mindset to adapt to a constantly-evolving T&S environment, and can prioritize multiple ongoing tasks and requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- You are experienced in statistical analysis or machine learning (multivariate analysis of variance, correlation/regression/classifiers, etc.) and its application to imbalanced data sets i.e. Fraud, Accidents, Violations etc.
- You have experience in building productivity tools using generic tech stacks, e.g. Schedule daily SQL jobs to build data tables on big data platforms, integrating SQL alerts into push notifications on messengers, utilising Python in Jupyter Notebook and/or big data platforms to perform data processing and/or process automation.
- Your ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
