The Senior Accountant is a hybrid Ops and Accounting position responsible for the processing and validation of trading and settlement activities, in addition to timely and accurate financial record keeping and reporting as directed by management. The Senior Accountant ensures compliance with financial transaction recording standards (e.g., general ledger, cash payments/collections, tax transactions, etc.). With minimal oversight, this job reconciles the company's accounts and records (balance sheet, P&L, bank accounts, etc.). 



Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs verbal confirmation on Investment Securities and Swaps

  • Settles Investment Securities thru Federal Home Loan Banking system

Manages collateral on Swaps and FX open position

  • Manages daily margin movement on Swap position

  • Maintains records of organization's financial activity in accordance with GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

  • Assists general ledger account owners with reconciliation of month end account balances and verification.

  • Coordinates the work distribution and provides guidance for the more complex items for the accounting staff in the General Ledger Operations unit.

  • Completes month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management and tax, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities.

  • Creates reports on financial performance for internal and external use.

  • Supports junior accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

    Required Qualification

    • 3+ years of experience in general accounting

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in general accounting
    • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
    • Experience in operations, finance, regulatory or audit procedures in a high growth environment.
    • Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, have a positive work ethic and be comfortable working in a fast paced, changing, demanding environment
    • Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
    • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work requirements and allocate resources accordingly
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Additional technology skills a plus (Blackline, Oracle, DataCentral, Markitwire, FINDUR, Payplus)

    Potential Salary: $97,000.00 USD

    Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
