The Lead Data Quality and Governance Analyst manages large projects and processes relating to the assessment, improvement and governance of quality and ongoing fitness-for-purpose of data, ensuring adequate data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes. As a subject matter expert in data quality and governance, this job directs the design and implementation of master data management solutions in order to maintain a common, firm-wide data standard. This job coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level team members and influences the team to implement new processes and methodologies as needed.

  • Strengthens the organization's data governance capabilities to ensure that high data quality exists throughout the complete lifecycle of the data and that data controls are implemented to support business objectives.

  • Ensures business process, system support and data quality governance for master data through data coordination and integration to ensure efficient processes and consistent data flows to business and stakeholders.

    Seeking an experienced data professional that will collaborate with technology and multiple business areas in driving the design, vision and strategy for data management initiatives.  Your role will be focused on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) data and Individual Client Services (ICS) data and will have the responsibility for defining the strategy and management of data assets to improve their reusability, accessibility and quality.

    The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct Data Analysis to determine source data quality issues in EFCP (Enterprise Financial Crimes Prevention Program) implementations and to perform data sprints in ICS business areas to build DQ dashboards. The position will work with business, technical and non-technical users to identify the root causes of the data quality issues. The position will engage with the LOB Data Owners and their IT partners to perform root cause analysis.  The Lead Data Steward will drive and consult on data analysis, data remediation, and data quality reporting. The Lead Data Steward will identify Data Quality, business process gaps and improvements opportunities using relevant data to build case for data issue remediation. The position will perform source system data queries and pull bad data sets; Document root cause problems and data samples; Conduct Impact analysis to quantify the business problem with supporting data; Present the issue in a clear and concise manner to business stakeholders.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Partner with business colleagues and data owners to identify and define critical data elements within their scope of responsibility for AML and Counter Fraud initiatives
    • Define and maintain Data Quality Controls based on data profiling results
    • Partner with data stewards in other departments and the chief data officer to define, approve and monitor policies, standards, procedures and best practices
    • Develop and ensure implementation of data naming standards, definitions, standard values, data security, data business rules and validation rules and data quality measures
    • Partnering with LOB Data Owners and their IT Partners to determine the bad quality data sets; perform root cause analysis to pinpoint the underlying problem for the EFCP Data Quality Issue.
    • In partnership with EFCP Data Steward, present relevant facts surrounding the EFCP data quality issues.
    • Interact with stakeholders of all levels including senior management to create compelling vision, based on facts and data.
    • Present the data quality issue with supporting material to business and Compliance stake holders.
    • Document the data quality issue as well as the resolution to present to stakeholders or store in the issue tracking system.
    • Generate DQ issue management reports on weekly and monthly basis.

    Preferred QUALIFICATIONS:

    •   10+ years of Professional experience in IT or data operations areas

    •   7+ years of hands on data analysis and/or ETL experience

    •   7+ years of experience with SQL (skilled) and major data bases like Oracle, SQL Server, and Hadoop/Hive etc.

    •    Proficiency in Microsoft Office products like Excel, Access

    •    Excel – medium level experience (Pivot tables and Vlookups)

    •    Access – medium level experience

    •    BI Tools/Tableau – medium level experience

    •    Excellent analytical skills, including business and systems analysis

    •    High energy and a passion for data quality issue remediation and root cause analysis

    •    Very strong written, spoken, and presentation communication skills

    •    Proven ability to work with complexity and translate multiple sources of data into a clear approach to data analysis and visualization

    •    Bachelor's Degree, strongly preferred

    •    Experience in a Financial Services Organization desired

    Potential Salary: $132,100.00 USD

    Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
