TIAA has an opportunity for a Director, Data Science. This role will lead a team of high performing data scientists within the Center of Excellence for AI/ML that provides support across the enterprise by applying novel ML approaches to develop solutions that support key business objectives, working in partnership with key business stakeholders. In additional to that, this team has the objective of research and bring innovative AI/ML methods and algorithms to support ongoing innovation.



Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Collaborate with peers, business, and operations management to understand company needs and develop possible solutions using prototypes, proof of concepts, multi-task systems, algorithms, through innovative AI/ML methods

  • Promote the adoption of data science & machine learning across the organization, at managerial, executive & operational stages.

    • University (Degree) Preferred

    Work Experience

    • 8+ Years Required; 10+ Years Preferred

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in the AI/ML domain
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience with ML algorithms (to include hands-on developing custom ML algorithms), possess a deep understanding of statistical methods, and forms of utilization
    • Minimum of 3+ years of experience with computing systems used to distribute training of ML models (GPU, CPU, TPU)
    • Minimum of 7 years of coding experience using Python, TensorFlow, R or other similar languages

    Preferred:

    • Graduate degree in Statistics, Computer Sciences, Physics, Mathematics or other related quantitative field

    Potential Salary: $201,285.00 USD

    Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
