The successful candidate will join the VAT team responsible for the analyzing, researching, interpreting and documenting laws and regulations, extensive researching and analyzing of product exemptions, researching and responding to client inquiries, prioritizing, assessing risk for correspondence and assessments, updating documentation. This full-time position will be based in Gdansk with hybrid working available.
About the Role
Our Tax Associates are responsible for researching, analyzing and documenting tax rules and laws applicable to ONESOURCE™ tax software. The job includes updating and testing multiple tax data systems supporting indirect taxes. In this opportunity as Tax Associate, you will:
- Research, analyze, interpret and document tax laws and regulations.
- Monitor tax statutes, regulations, legislative activity, court decisions and publications to stay informed of changes in laws and regulations. Correspond with global and local tax authorities.
- Research and respond to client inquiries.
- Provide recommendations on complex tax and legal issues.
- Communicate complicated tax/legal issues in an understandable manner to non-tax/legal tax professionals. Tests all tax content changes made in database for quality assurance.
- Provide guidance to other departments regarding tax processes.
- Maintenance and accuracy of all applicable tax/legal information in content database, which includes entering content changes into all systems and applications.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Tax Associate if your background includes:
- A degree in Law/Finance/Tax.
- A Detail-orientated approach. We're looking for someone that enjoys analyzing data (both quantitative and qualitative) and problem solving. Here, you'll be interpreting, analyzing and organizing detailed legal material so a keen eye for detail is a must!
- A strong interest in tax (specifically VAT) and the desire to grow your career in a tax research setting. Ability to utilize online research tools and work to specific deadlines.
- Great written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write white papers or technical tax documents (training will be provided!). Comfortable using the Microsoft Office Package (e.g. Microsoft Excel & Word) and open to learning new technologies.
