Senior Performance Test Engineer will be responsible for building the performance testing competency for the technology product portfolio in Thomson Reuters OneSource platform. The individual in this role will identify and implement an open source framework, inclusive of process, tools & reports, to effectively test the application performance. In addition to possessing strong expertise on a variety of performance testing tools and methodologies, He/She is expected to have experience in End to End performance engineering tasks (such as Capacity planning). This role may also have people management responsibilities for a small team of Performance Test Engineers.

- Design and Implement a Performance test strategy that can be extended across the product portfolio

- Adopt a performance test framework suitable for the applications under test

- Develop a performance test reporting module for communicating the application performance metrics

- Gather Non Functional Requirements and understand performance SLAs

- Partner with internal/external teams to create user profiles and workload models

- Create and execute detailed performance test plans related to load, stress, volume, endurance etc

- Identify application performance risks and work with engineering teams to resolve the issues

- Partner with Application architects in capacity planning and modeling exercises

- Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Professional Services, Client and 3rd Parties at various stages of the performance tests

- Lead Agile teams to integrate performance tests within the sprints

- Active participation in the continuous improvement of application performance

About You:

• 6+ years of experience in performance testing including 1+ year in a lead/architect role

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree program or equivalent job experience that would equate to a degree.

• Expertise in a variety of performance test tools such as Apache JMeter, WebLoad, OpenSTA, HP Performance Center/LoadRunner

• Proven experience building new performance test frameworks including reporting dashboards

• Strong experience in JMeter

• Strong experience in Performance Engineering tasks such as Capacity planning and Application performance management

• Experience setting up performance testing environments in the cloud (preferably AWS)

• Ability to influence and provide technical direction as needed

• Proactive team player with the ability to work in a globally dynamic environment

• Proven experience in agile methodologies and continuous integration.

• Organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks/subprojects simultaneously

• Good written and oral communication skills.

• Strong problem solving skills Desired skills:

• Test Automation Experience (preferably in Selenium)

Scope:
• Delivers end-to-end testing solutions for multiple products/or complex projects
• Leads routine projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
• May manage budgets for small projects or programs
• Solves complex problems with minimal guidance

Sphere of Influence:
• Immediate QA/Software Development Engineer team
• Engages with cross functional teams to execute
• Trains and mentors more junior colleagues
• Influences and articulates compelling QA solutions for customers and product(s)
• Explains difficult concepts and influences others to adopt a point of view for ideas and initiatives

Delivery:
• Advises middle management on functional matters, or on interpretation of policies and practices
• Works with different project teams to ensure functional/regression test suite is up to date and remains relevant.
• Brings up risks to QE Lead/Manager in a timely fashion and prepare for contingency
• Adapts traditional approaches to solutions and applies in different circumstances
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Responsible for functional testing, automating client application and qualification of the App review Tool and client side applications
• Responsible for planning, designing, maintaining and executing test cases with minimal direction.
• Automating the client side application and maintain as we keep adding new features.

• Strong understanding of other roles within the function or Business Unit and how they are connected
• Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships with key customers
