At Thomson Reuters, we're transforming the legal industry through our CoCounsel AI platform. As a Principal Engineer for CoCounsel DevOps, you'll streamline our deployment processes, consolidate cloud infrastructure, and establish best practices that enable us to scale into new markets efficiently.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Principal Engineer, CoCounsel DevOps, you will:
- Lead the technical strategy for CoCounsel's infrastructure, consolidating cloud providers and identifying optimal solutions that enhance scalability and performance
- Design and implement streamlined deployment processes that enable rapid expansion into new markets while maintaining reliability and security
- Establish common operational strategies across teams, aligning practices and creating cohesive infrastructure standards
- Drive innovation in AI-native product experiences by building the robust foundation needed for LLM and generative AI technologies
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert, providing thought leadership and guidance on critically important projects while mentoring other engineers
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into actionable technical solutions
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to keep our infrastructure at the cutting edge

About You
You're a fit for the role of Principal Engineer, CoCounsel DevOps if your background includes:
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with a proven track record of building and maintaining enterprise-grade microservices
- Expertise in AWS cloud services and substantial experience managing infrastructure with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tooling
- Experience implementing modern DevOps best practices in production environments
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries
- A pragmatic and curious mindset that drives you to find elegant solutions to complex problems
- Strong communication skills that enable you to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to mentor others and contribute to engineering culture

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $154,000 - $286,000.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
