About the Role
In this opportunity as a Cloud Infrastructure Architect you will:
- Be a Technical Leader: Research and recommend technical standards and best practices. Work with technology teams and beyond to realise their implementation
- Be an efficient Stakeholder Manager: collaborate and engage with external and internal stakeholders such as business teams, product owners, project management in defining roadmap for products and processes. Act as point of contact in resolving stakeholder issues
- Be a Decision Maker: make quick and effective date driven decisions, with good problem solving and analytical skills to infer qualitative and quantitative data, and roll out strategy that aligns with company goals
- Be a Team Player - ability to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment, share information, value diverse ideas, partner with cross functional and remote teams
- Be Curious & Innovative - continuously update yourself with next generation technology, development tools, and contribute to process development practices
- Be an Agile Person - with strong sense of urgency and a desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment to deliver solutions against strict timelines.
- Be an Effective Communicator - ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues, and share ideas, participate in peer-reviews, and exhibit strong listening skills. Work with the business owners to translate requirements into actionable architectures
- Be Responsible for:
- Architecture Strategy & Roadmap - define and update strategic architectural roadmaps for cloud infrastructure and integration capabilities
- Architecture design oversight of future and existing Cloud Architecture and Integration Solutions, ensure that technology solutions align with the overall technology strategy to support reliable, scalable and secure Cloud and Integration architectures. Ensure also that the architecture is communicated, understood and adhered to.
- Architecture Governance - partner with internal cross business architecture groups as well as Cloud and Integration Design Authorities, work vendor partners and be the Domain Architecture representative for Commercial Engineering's Cloud and Integration capabilities.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Cloud Infrastructure Architect if you:
- Have at least 5 years of Cloud and Integration Architecture experience - across multiple business contexts
- Have consulting experience with a strong track record at a leading IT consultancy or large corporate
- Have experience working with agile teams and methodologies and globally distributed teams.
- Have Solid experience techniques in the following areas: Cloud architecture set up, monitoring, scaling and auto-scaling, networking and load-balancing, single and multi-region resilience for applications and databases, migration from on-premise to cloud, governance of cloud infrastructures, security and integration between on-premise and multiple cloud vendors,
- Have solid experience in technologies such as: Amazon Web Services 4 years+, Docker / Kubernetes (or equivalent) 4+ years, Puppet
- Have demonstrable experience in large-scale on-premise data centre migrations to cloud and technology optimization initiatives.
- Ideally have experience in systems and techniques in some of the following areas: Boomi 4 years+, Oracle Fusion Middleware (or equivalent) technologies, Messaging Middleware, API Management, RESTful & SOAP API design, JSON & XML, Informatica and other leading ETL/ELT tools, experience in Java including Spring, Sling, JCR and OSGI.
- Ideally experience of key application and database cloud deployment patterns: Microservices, Serverless, Messaging Middleware, Streaming patterns, Realtime and Batch Data integration, Master and Meta Data Management, Long running transactions.
- Ideally have a Development/Systems background with experience across the full project lifecycle
- Have experience in working with diverse teams, including multi country and company teams
- Have experience managing or directing work of others to contribute to a shared goal
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Have a self-motivated, proactive mindset
- Have an organized and methodical approach
- Required degree level (BA/BSc/MSc/BEng/MEng) in a Technical/Business discipline
