The Drafter uses CAD (Computer Aided Design) equipment to create or modify model draft files of machine components and systems and works closely with various component suppliers and other engineers with mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic responsibilities. This role involves specifying and documenting dimensions, materials, and procedures, and modeling 3D parts, weldments, and assemblies as needed. The Drafter collaborates closely with design teams, engineers, and production manufacturing to provide drafting assistance and ensure adherence to industry and company drafting standards.

Work Location:
This role is 5 days on-site in Perry, Oklahoma. This opportunity is not eligible for remote or hybrid work options at this time.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Specifying and documenting dimensions, materials, and procedures using CAD modeling and drafting software.
Creating CAD drawings of assemblies for product parts page manuals.
Modeling 3D parts, weldments, and assemblies, and creating detailed drawings for manufacturing.
Creating SAP part information and Bill of Material (BOM) reports
Providing assembly layout assistance to design teams, including creating assemblies and weldments from existing BOMs, designing and modeling simple parts, and creating drawings for weldments and final assemblies.
Working closely with production manufacturing to ensure draft requirements are feasible and optimized for manufacturing processes.
Preparing documentation for design release to production, including managing the Change Release process.
Participating in quality initiatives and training as required.
Performing other related duties as required.
Job Title:
The job title will be based on academic and prior years of experience.
Drafter I - Minimum of 0-4+ years of experience.
Drafter II - Minimum of 5-9+ years of experience.
Drafter III - Minimum of 10+ years of experience.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting, Drafting Design, or high school graduate with four (4) plus years related experience or equivalent required.
Understanding the application of basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Demonstrated ability to independently accomplish the duties and responsibilities listed above.
Working knowledge and understanding of industry drafting standards (ANSI).
Responsible for adhering to company drafting standards and procedures.
Ability to technically communicate with designers, engineers, and production manufacturing teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with engineering technology-related disciplines preferred.
Experience with CAD software; Creo drafting experience preferred.

Competitive Salary – A reasonable pay range for this opportunity is $20.39 - $31.45. The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
