Job Summary

As a Transportation Coordinator, you are responsible for but not limited to handling the day-to-day execution of the transportation department. A coordinator works with internal (DC, Home Office, Store Ops, etc.) and external (carriers, 3PLs) partners to monitor shipments and expedite the efficient movement of TJX merchandise. Creating a timely flow into our stores while working to maintain the optimal performance value. Ensuring timely service of deliveries, while upholding operational standards. Supporting and escalating any high-level challenges to their Transportation Supervisor/Manager.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Communicates with Transportation companies. Supports Transportation Manager with Cross Dock Forecasting, Daily Reports, Email / Phone Call follow-up. ETC.
  • Monitors SCAN and YMS systems several times daily and advises Transportation and DC of aging outbound and Inbound loads and updates corresponding reports several times daily.
  • Responsible for timely notification of carriers with late cross dock pickups, empty equipment available for pick up with excessive idle time.
  • Over/short notification claims to carrier with strict deadlines.
  • Responsible for checking accuracy of daily, weekly and monthly inbound / outbound reports.
  • Inbound daily responsibilities but not limited to: Receiving schedule, Trailer routing, Carrier bobtail verification, Carrier live unload scheduling, Freight BOL verification, Misdirected freight log, Inbound carrier communication in regard to equipment concerns.
  • Outbound daily responsibilities but not limited to: Cross dock forecasting, Daily Cross dock reports updated, Carrier communication several times daily by email and phone, Network trailer tracking updated several times a day.
  • Process carrier detention invoices for payment.
  • Provides support for DC, Vendors and Home Office.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • Software applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Scan/ Mainframe experience
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are a MUST
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work with limited supervision
  • Must be flexible in work schedule hours and able to work overtime if necessary
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be able to work on a team as well as independently
  • Must have confidentiality with all transportation business

This position's starting pay range is $16.45 to $22.20 per hour, with an additional $1.50 per hour for the weekend shift differential. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
