The Opportunity: Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career

Based in our Los Angeles Buying Office, The Vendor Trade Compliance Specialist develops, implements, and trains existing vendors on TJX policies and procedures and government agency requirements of all importing countries, as it relates to international buying. They will partner with key internal and external stakeholders (buying, operations, risk, compliance and legal) to understand and monitor the legal and ethical trading responsibilities and requirements specific to TJX. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in our downtown Los Angeles office and the ability to flex hours as needed to support multiple time zones.

What You Will Do:

  • Reviews and assesses internal and or external processes and procedures and communicates findings to business counterparts.
  • Communicates, partners, coaches and (sometimes) challenges vendors to support global compliance goals.
  • Develops and maintains a central database that holds all the legally required documents and ethical compliance trading policies.
  • Develops and maintains strong working partnerships with Buyers and Vendors to help ensure product compliance standards are met and continuously followed.
  • Communicates compliance strategies to buyers (with manager) and strategize processes and partnerships with buyers to achieve - for both product compliance and product labelling.
  • Represents TJX to external partners independently or with Manager to support the compliance strategies.
  • Monitors and measures vendor compliance assisting the buying teams in developing vendor understanding and solutions to rectify non-compliance.
  • Travel to local vendors as needed to support relationships and training opportunities.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum 3 years of Merchandise Operations or other related experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong support skills, including effectively and efficiently responding to merchant, vendor, carrier inquiries
  • Proven ability to identify stated and unstated customer needs, and to build relationships with merchants, vendors, and other key stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of overall merchandise flow and able to prioritize and work with a multitude of vendor and Merchandising requests
  • Process improvement mindset with ability to identify root cause of issues and implement updates
  • Highly organized with attention to detail, can prioritize multiple work streams concurrently
  • Thrives in a fast pace, rapidly changing, deadline driven environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365/Office suite including Excel as well

This position has a starting salary range of $60,500 to $75,600 per year.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
