What you'll do
It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:
- Accountable for performing tasks or overseeing resources to develop design solutions, store fixture layouts and provide production drawings for new, relocation, expansion and remodeled TJX Canada stores based on predetermined schedules and design standards.
- Responsible for maintaining archived drawings (physical, virtual, samples) and to participate in the overall development and maintenance of the Store Design processes
- Provides Design & CAD functions to develop design solutions, fixture, and merchandising layouts for stores. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to reviewing tender, permit, construction, and signage drawings. As well as responding to design queries and site clarifications as needed
- Provides Landlords/Developers/Vendors with shell & interior building requirements based on the latest store design criteria
- Updates and maintains project schedules, ensures all projects are completed in agreed upon timelines and to predetermined standards
- Provides a regular review on all assignments to Management team
- Maintains archived drawings and resource library
- Supports all departments in the planning and execution of all initiatives
- Performs other ad-hoc assignments as identified by Management
What you'll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma from a recognized institution in Interior Design or Architectural Technology, or comparable specialization
- A minimum of 4 years of previous experience in professional design environments, including general knowledge of retail design, building systems and fixtures
- Previous design experience in a retail and/or field environment is an asset
- Excellent project management skills. Demonstrates personal ownership and accountability for consistently delivering individual and team results
- Strong verbal and written communication ability
- Works well with others, including but not limited to, internal departments and external architects/engineers, landlords, vendors, building officials, contractors, and suppliers
- Available for occasional site visits and travel
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and AutoCAD
Salary Range: $58,910 - $82,472
This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
