What you'll do

TJX Integration Platform Engineering team maintains and owns integration platforms of the organization. We partner with our product teams, gain alignment on strategy, assess the current state capabilities, establish future state needs, build roadmap using components such as Cloud, DevSecOps, Intelligent Automation and usher in the next generation technology solutions that power the business capabilities for the organization.

This team delivers platform as a product for TJX Global Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance and Health Care. This function is a critical part of the capability that supports coordinating the movement of millions of products around the globe to our retail stores every single day.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Engineer who has Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) knowledge and technical engineering leadership. This person will partner with a team of IT professionals to deliver solutions to our rapidly growing North American, Canadian, and European divisions. This position will be a key part of driving the introduction of a new platform that will modernize the existing implementation and provide new business capabilities.

In this role:

  • You will design, code, deploy & support working EDI and File Transfer software/technology components, while partnering collaboratively with architects and engineers.
  • Provide technical expertise to the organization, own the design and development of standards, design governance and development tool selection.
  • Actively participate in the evaluation and introduction of new technology, vendor packages and tool road mapping.
  • Resolve medium to high technically complex problems on multiple Features and Epics; support and provide technical direction for the product team and communicate future plans and direction to both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Acts in an SME capacity, prioritizing and assigning tasks, providing guidance and resolving issues.
  • Introduce DevSecOps into the EDI practice to ship high-quality code and speed of delivery.
  • Deliver on the Integration Services Group commitments & objectives
  • Drive efficiencies in Integration designs and development
  • Deliver operationally stable integration solutions
  • Groom other engineers in the Integration space
  • Responsible for achieving operational excellence as part of delivering integrations.
  • Build integrations, creates test data, and supports deployment, all at a medium to high level of complexity.
  • Actively participates in development process definitions, best practices and standards.
  • Lead evaluation of 3rd party engagement need.
  • Help onboard and mentor engineers.
  • Support Talent Acquisition process by performing technical interviews for hiring.
  • Develops expert knowledge in specific business applications / services supporting a given domain. Has a solid understanding of the end-to-end business application processes in a domain.
  • Provides input into technical application roadmaps including the recommendation of IT driven projects.
  • Special projects as needed.

  • Shared Services functions like AHS, SDM, Security, DevSecOps, Cloud etc.
  • Product / Domain / Support teams across IT
  • Enterprise / Solution Architecture

You'll be part of a strong team which will be involved in delivering Platform as a Product for modernization programs across TJX. You'll be part of influencing a multi-year roadmap for delivering enterprise-grade technologies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Computer Science, or a directly related field and 8+ years of IT experience, specifically within the EDI space and preferably in retail.
  • Previous experience in a Lead Engineer capacity for medium to large EDI initiatives.
  • Structuring work, prioritizing and assigning tasks, providing direction and resolving issues.
  • Working experience and platform knowledge of Extol EEI and Cleo Harmony.
  • Experience with EDI communication and translation methods such as XML, FTP, SSL, AS2, SFTP, HTTP, JSON, etc.
  • Strong application development experience with RPG and CL while working on an AS400 platform.
  • Experience designing and developing data integration solutions for ETL/ELT and Managed File Transfer technologies (e.g. Boomi, Progress MOVEit, Azure ADF, IBM DataStage, Qlik Talend).
  • Knowledge of modern protocols and technologies including REST services and/or APIs is preferable.
  • Strong knowledge on Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) space.
  • Experience of agile delivery methodologies - SAFe preferred.
  • Knowledge of & experience in Software Design & Architecture methodologies.
  • Knowledge of & experience in DevSecOps best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills around strategic, critical thinking and decision making.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification on Data Integration platform.
  • Knowledge of EDI and CDC platforms (such as iSeries - RPG programing, Cleo Harmony, FiveTran HVR) is a strong plus.

This position has a starting salary range of $112,800.00 to $146,600.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
