JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for protecting the assets of the Company, including Associates, Customer, merchandise, money, and property. Supports the District Loss Prevention Manager and Store Management by executing core responsibilities, including external/internal theft resolution, encouraging a culture of honesty, and supporting/validating shrink/safety programs and operational excellence in partnership with the store team. Exercises sound judgment in decision-making to ensure their safety, the safety of others, and the protection of the Company

Duties and Responsibilities
• Utilizes all available resources (i.e., documentation of external incidents, store external theft reports, video surveillance, archive video review, shared elements, LP and/or NTF blitzes, etc.) to identify external theft activity. Observe, apprehend and/or deter any acts of
dishonesty from external sources (e.g., shoplifting, habitual shoplifters, organized theft activity, ticket switching, etc.) at a level consistent with store shrink and theft activity with measured and balanced results.
• Maintains appropriate evidence, demonstrates understanding of law enforcement procedures, and professionally participates in legal activities as needed (e.g., court appearances, law enforcement communication, etc.). Files police reports on external theft incidents that are significant in nature to communicate current theft trends and activity to law enforcement and provides digital evidence as requested to support potential prosecution of shoplifting subjects.
• Adheres to established shoplifter guidelines (i.e., elements of proof, safety, non-violence policy, boundaries, non-productive detainments) and applies the Company priority decision making process and voluntary compliance techniques to ensure all apprehension attempts are made safely and in the best interests of the Company.
• Initiates internal incidents and conducts supervisor-approved investigations (e.g., recognizes suspicious activity, conducts fact findings, conducts surveillances, and communicates findings) with consistent and measured results. Uses proprietary Company case management platform to document internal incidents to maintain electronic case file, documenting case initiation, investigative tactics assigned and/or completed, and the steps of the investigative process.
• Utilizes all available resources to resolve investigations. (i.e., surveillances, video review, store paperwork, cash charting, TipLine/Hotline, exception reports, etc.) to initiate/substantiate internal cases.
• Maintains an effective partnership with store management and Associates through active engagement in shrink reduction, shrink messaging, damage prevention, and Associate safety.

• Actively supports and validates Associate use of Company shrink resources to mitigate/reduce shrink (e.g., TipLine/Hotline, Associate awareness training, new hire LP orientations, damage programs).
• Monitors and validates the physical security and safety of the store and Associates (e.g., cash handling, alarm system, locks and keys, camera system, safety guidelines).
• Completes all administrative duties in a timely and effective manner (e.g., case management, investigative reports, audits).
• Encourages safety awareness, helps maintain a risk-free environment, and communicates workplace safety issues to management in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum formal education, if any, required to perform this job e.g., Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Law Degree). High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum job skills required to perform this job (for example: programming languages, strong interpersonal skills, computer software packages).

Strong written and verbal communication Sound decision making skills
Ability to take initiative and perform well independently
Prioritizes/organizes workload and manages time effectively

Minimum experience required to perform this job.
0-2 years of experience in retail or security

The pay range within this store is $16.75 to $18.00 per hour.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
