What you'll do
It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key responsibilities of the role:
- This position is responsible for providing administrative support services to the Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance department, researching and tracking consumer product incidents and creating labelling for both Federal and Provincial regulations
- Responsible for tracking and reporting on compliance on directives communicated to Stores
- Monitors and responds to Store inquiries; identifies and reports on trends and potential risks based on inquiries being submitted; reports on opportunities and efficiencies to implement; escalates high risk issues e.g. product safety concerns, to team members to be addressed
- Accountable for documenting product issues and discrepancies such as food labeling, language, retail/comp identified by Distribution Centre and or Stores
- Requests and maintains samples and/or pictures of product concerns and communicates findings to appropriate stakeholders, may partner with merchandising and or product safety and compliance team to determine appropriate course of action
- Responsible for reviewing and coordinating product labels to ensure compliance provincially and federally (CCCR labelling) including Quebec language requirements
- Responsible for monitoring jewelry certificates to ensure are certificates are renewed and distributed to all applicable stores
- Responsible for filing cosmetic notifications with Health Canada as needed.
- May participate on annual and special projects / committees as needed
What you'll need
To begin your career with us, you'll have:
- Minimum one (1) year of experience within retail operations and or related administrative experience
- Post-secondary education in related field, e.g. administration, business considered an asset
- Knowledge of product compliance, regulations and standards with Health Canada, Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), OQLF (Quebec) and other government agencies; knowledge of Canadian environmental, food, beauty, toy, and children's apparel regulations considered an asset
- Good problem-solving skills including analysis of information and reasearch skills; ability to identify problems, investigates issues, discrepancies and prepares responses for anticipated questions, understands the needs of the audience when presenting information
- Excellent organizational skills including time management; ability to implement and manage details, prioritize, and multi-task with limited supervision and under time pressure
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write, communicate and interpret information accurately; bilingualism considered an asset (English/French)
