The Opportunity: Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career

The Design Manager will report to the Divisional Manager of Design, Hard Home and support TJX Product Development by managing a team of Senior Designers. The manager must have demonstrated strong aesthetic, color sense and design skill. Qualified candidates will also have proven ability to balance multiple time sensitive projects, problem solve, remain flexible and navigate the needs of the business in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience leading, coaching, and developing a team of direct reports is required. This is a hybrid position offering a flexible work schedule, 2 days on site in our Framingham, MA office/3 days from home.

What You Will Do:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with Management and Product Development to problem solve, align priorities and accommodate changing needs of the business.
  • Manage a team of in-house Senior Designers to continually navigate priorities and workloads for multiple product categories.
  • Lead the Senior Designers to plan, develop and create trend right artwork and layouts for specified product programs.
  • Support Senior Designers in creating cohesive design assortments while following department processes and aligning with business strategy.
  • Maintain a high level of aesthetic judgment.
  • Competitively shop the market, stay up to date on trends and drive innovative product and newness in all categories.
  • Support the team by maintaining a positive work experience and prioritizing talent development.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • Previous Management experience, preferably leading a creative team
  • Minimum of 8-10 years Design experience
  • A self-starter with the ability to prioritize workload for others while handling multiple projects with flexibility and ease, ensuring the team is meeting or exceeding deadlines
  • Review and articulate ideas on work in progress quickly and clearly while inspiring others
  • Experience planning design assortments, the ability to visualize product, strong color sense and interpret conceptual design ideas
  • Prior job experience creating repeating patterns, recoloring artwork and creating dynamic layouts on products
  • Works well both independently and in a team environment with an eagerness to learn and grow
  • Strong people skills, with a team orientation, and the ability to collaborate, partner and build effective working relationships with multiple internal partners within Product Development in a constantly evolving environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and follow through skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience in Product Development, Home Categories a plus
  • Domestic and international travel required; prior experience preferred

This position has a starting salary range of $90,200 to $115,200 per year.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
