TJX Europe is a leading off-price retailer operating successful chains such as TK Maxx and Homesense across Europe.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to apply for the role of Forklift Instructor to join our team at Walsall Processing Centre.

As an MHE Instructor you will be responsible for delivering high quality training to Warehouse operatives on the safe use and efficent operation of FLT (forklift trucks). Whilst ensuring a good level of driving standards are adopted and maintained, you will also support in promoting a positive safety culture across the PC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting practical and theoretical training sessions, ensuring compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation.
  • Assessing trainee competence and providing constructive and balanced feedback in a professional manner
  • Maintaining accurate training records and ensuring compliance with internal and external audit requirements
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of safe systems of work
  • Preparing and maintaining training materials, including presentations, handouts and assessments
  • Ability to communicate verbally in a clear and confident manner
  • Maintaining Personal development and attending relevant training courses when required, in line with industry standards
  • Able to deliver training on a range of MHE equipment which will include VNA, CBT, Reach, LLOP and Powered Stacker Trucks
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with site management teams, implementing best practice and promoting a positive safety culture

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Attend RTITB 2-week Instructors course at (RTITB Academy Telford). Candidates will be required to pass the practical operating test to gain a permanent role
  • Must hold a valid and in date basic operators' certificate for CBT, (Counterbalance)
  • 6 months continuous operator experience and exposure to driving CBT
  • A clean driving record is essential, (no incidents/accidents within the last 12 months)
  • Responsible attitude with excellent time management and organisational skills and the bility to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Has a good level of understanding of Forklift Truck operation and safety
  • A proactive and safety conscious approach to work
  • Ability to prioritise work efficiently to achieve measurable targets
  • Open to attending numerous training courses including, First for Safety (First Aid), ARCO S - Cape Instructors Evacuation course (Working at Height), Manual Handling Instructors course, (Pristine Condition) Fire Marshall courses
