What you'll do
It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:
- Accountable for placing purchase orders (PO) based on weekly plans developed by Buying and Planning teams
- Responsible for reviewing merchandise inbound flow plans and update PO estimated arrival dates at Distribution Centres, updating Buyer and Planning teams as required
- Coordinates inbound flow modifications, mitigating early receipts due to logistics changes, delays, business needs/trends including working with global buying offices as required
- Analyzes visibility milestone reporting along with leveraging other reporting tools to identify and advise on merchandise flow interruptions / issues; takes action and partners on opportunities, and risk mitigation to drive sales.
- Partners with Planning on updates to dynamic inbound flow picture and recommends alternate viable available to ship scenarios where possible.
- Prepares and reviews weekly and daily reports as well as utilizing key tools within the business to understand timeline changes within purchase orders (i.e., RPA updates, vendor updates, shipping updates) and action them as required; provides Buyers with regular reporting
- Partners with Buyer to execute any negotiated discounts or cancellations of PO's
- Resolves vendor problems on behalf of the Buyer e.g., PO discrepancies, shipping dates, partial shipments etc.
- Provides timely communication to Merchants, Supervisor, and other business stakeholders in the identification of flow issues that will impact sales e.g., lates/earlies/vendor issues.
- Accountable for providing timely categorization of Corporate Import Requisition (CIR) and completion of PO to meet GBO CIR required timeframe
- Partners with Vendor Intake team to systemically open new vendors within a 24-hour window.
- Manage the department's vendor base (contact info, pre-ticket addresses, update trade show vendor base, maintain history and current activity), filter potential new vendors, keep vendor information current.
- Ensures vendor samples are available for Buyer to review for quality control, one world/strategies, presentations to Senior Leadership, marketing event needs.
- Partners with Logistics to resolve product shipping and booking issues to process merchandise through Distribution Centres
- Participate in special projects as assigned

What you'll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:
- Minimum two (2) years retail or merchandising experience preferred
- Post-secondary education in related field considered an asset
- Strong organizational skills with ability to implement and manage details, prioritize, time manage and multi-task with limited supervision and sometimes under time pressure
- Solid problem-solving skills which include the ability to respond to inquiries as well as the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
- Demonstrates interpersonal abilities to perform effectively in a collaborative and team-oriented environment, where partnering with others and building strong working relationships are critical
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing needs of the business, and changing priorities
- Solid verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization
- An interest in working with merchandise (products) and a basic understanding of how key factors - such as brand, fashion, quality and price impact consumer buying behaviors
Salary Range: $50,955 - $71,337 /year
This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
