What you'll do
It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:
- This position is responsible for leading and managing distribution operations in the Service Centers and Cross docks with a 3-12-month view. This position will be responsible for the final mile which includes the Store delivery of 120-180 Stores to focus on the efficient, cost-effective operations, and timely delivery of merchandise to storesSets and executes 1-year TJXC Logistics linehaul strategies across internal and external partners to improve on time service to Service Centers DC's and Cross Docks
- Serves as the primary point of contact for Store logistics and liaison between Service Providers (Carriers, 3PL's), TJX, and TJX Canada (TJXC) Key Partners - Distribution Services, Store Operations, Loss Prevention, Planning/Allocation, Finance, and Merchants, to execute and maintain TJXC Logistics strategies that impact growth and company profitability
- Provide regional (provincial) transportation expertise and insights to develop TJXC initiatives which will support enablement of Supply chain efficiencies and cost reduction
- Develop the delivery methodology to each Store (between 120-180 Stores) to accomplish the targeted service level compliance and budget expense attainment
- Partner and work cross-functionally with Store Operations and Distribution Services to identify opportunities for change and plan implementation at the store level that simplifies their daily operation
- Maintain negotiation with carriers as needed for transportation services requiring spot pricing or other transportation services not covered in the RFP to minimize outbound Logistics cost
- Support operational excellence with Performance Metrics - Monitor, design and evaluate to execute solutions which guarantee service level agreement compliance by service providers. solutions for service level agreement compliance by service providers
- Plan projects initiatives with structured methodology, creating and maintaining project development plans, recommending project specifications/selection criteria to improve productivity and manage budget
- Engage with Service Providers such as Carriers, 3PL's (2-4 Service Center and 15-25 Cross docks), TJX, and TJXC Key Partners (Distribution Services, Store Operations, Loss Prevention, Planning/Allocation, Finance, and Merchants) to ensure adherence to stipulated service level to our Stores
What you'll need
To begin your career with us, we require the following:
- Designation/Certificate preferred in Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT) or The Logistics Institute (P.Log.)
- Minimum five (5) years related work experience, preferable in Canadian transportation and warehousing management or retail logistics environment
- Thoughtful leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior management and positively influence management and staff to act in the best interest of the Company
- Organizational skills development skills including change management skills; development of corporate training programs for management and staff (policies and procedures, etc.); training management staff (Associate performance management, management skills, etc.); development of succession plans
- Canadian transportation knowledge, including understanding transportation operations, costing, and service provider geographical coverage and capabilities in the various transportation modes, industry best practices, transportation industry regulations and the basics of transportation
- Ability to manage project including structured project methodology (i.e. determining needs, researching existing programs, etc.); preparing and maintaining detailed development plans for projects
- Demonstrated ability in the budgeting process for construction projects and experience with developing budgets, management of budgets and the ability to understand the financial impacts of the budgeting process
Salary Range: $85,430 - $129,188/ year
This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
