As an International Operations Specialist on the International Logistics Team you are a crucial part of our supply chain network, supporting the flow of goods from around the globe to our U.S. stores. Working in a fast-paced retail business, no day will be the same! You will be assigned a mix of core responsibilities as well as special projects which will optimize logistics operational performance, drive cost savings, and build the necessary tools and capabilities to support our continued growth.

The International Operations Specialist oversees the TJX import supply chain from origin countries into the US ports. Analyze processes, identifies and implements network improvement opportunities based on the overseas supply chain as well as TJX business requirements. Build & maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external strategic partners. Oversee the daily operations of forwarders and 3PLs for TJX direct import freight movements. Ensure Logistic service providers meet their contractual obligations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for direct import operations and managing our 3rd party freight forwarder(s) within a global region
  • Delivers through 3PL partner on all international inbound operations activities, including:
    • Monitors freight flow from origin to ensure product arrives when needed.
    • Scheduling/Planning of shipments
    • Handling of exceptions
    • Day-to-day interactions with vendors and inbound logistics providers
    • Maintains overseas operating procedure and department procedure manuals
    • Partners with Global Buying Offices to support their Logistics needs
  • Manages inbound operational performance to maximize capacity plan, container utilization, and 3PL performance
  • Works with divisions, freight forwarders, Global Buying Offices and agents, carriers, merchants, planning and allocation, and distribution services (among others) to optimize merchandise flow throughout the supply chain
  • Manages supply chain partners including TJX merchandise vendors, overseas forwarders, etc. to meet TJX requirements and build efficiency throughout the network
  • Evaluates Logistics provider service levels/KPI's and identifies procedural gaps and opportunities to management and develop corrective action plans to remedy service failures

Who We Are Looking For: You.

  • Bachelor's degree (Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations) required; MBA preferred
  • 1-3 years logistics & supply chain experience
  • International freight forwarding and/or 3PL operation management
  • Strong analytical and MS Excel skills. Must be able to use complex pivot tables and vlookups
  • Strong Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills; no day is the same in off-price retail, the ability to assess situations quickly and provide alternate solutions is key to success
  • Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment; product moves quickly through our supply chain network, it is important to react quickly to incoming requests
  • A self-director who can manage their own timelines and set priorities
  • Ability to influence others without authority and an agile learner
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships; you are the face of TJX to many of our external strategic partners
  • Flexible and adaptable; priorities change frequently based on business demands, the ability to change direction quickly is critical

This position has a starting salary range of $66,500 to $83,100 per year.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
