The primary purpose of this position is to support all engineering activities and establish a culture of process improvement in the distribution center. The Industrial Engineer will work the Industrial Engineering Manager and Operations teams to improve efficiency, maintain labor standards, and reduce costs. Their expertise will also be used to develop and implement regional and national projects and strategies.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Supports designs, develops and implements process improvements, work methods, efficient layouts, transportation solutions and material handling projects
- Develops standards utilizing work measurement methods and/or stopwatch data as required
- Creates and maintains all data within Labor Management System
- Determines whether validations are complete, and standards are accurate within guidelines
- Analyzes statistical data for volatility and standard deviation norms in relation to productivity performance, capacities, etc.
- Redesigns workstation level tasks to incorporate improved ergonomics and safety requirements
- Assists the IE Manager in developing DC layouts, CAD drawings, and space/density analysis
- Analyze and provide solutions for cost reduction through process improvements and cost/benefits analysis
- Utilizes labor data to cost justify capital expenditure and process change ROI. Uses labor and material cost data to compare and recommend process change and communicate accurate process costs to senior management
- Advises on systems expansion and equipment needs. Provides cost analysis studies, monitors and controls costs during design process
Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar equivalent degree
- 2+ years industrial engineering or related experience post college graduation
- Curriculum experience in college along with internships/part time roles in IE type function during school.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- MS Office Suite with strong MS Excel skills, MS Access, and Visio
- Trained in basics of work measurement and work design principles
- Base knowledge of ergonomics and safety regulations in relation to work and process design compliance
- Intermediate knowledge of time motion studies, including simultaneous variables and spot pace rating
- Basic understanding of data collection principles to support Labor Management Systems
- General trained knowledge of efficient workflow concepts and methods development
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD

This position has a starting salary range of $72,100.00 - $91,800.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
