The Privacy Manager is responsible for assisting with the management of TJX's privacy, data protection and records management functions. This position is responsible for identifying and mitigating risk associated with privacy, information management, and other regulatory requirements. This position represents TJX on related legal and compliance issues. The Privacy Manager monitors, researches, and communicates, both internally and externally, privacy, information management and regulatory standards and procedures, to ensure the organization remains aligned with government and sectoral regulations and handles risk accordingly.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week on site in our Marlborough, MA headquarters.

What You Will Do:

  • Assists in leading efforts to align with all relevant privacy and data protection laws in assigned jurisdictions (e.g., Europe's General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act).
  • Reviews and analyzes global processing activities occurring at TJX and drafts necessary privacy assessments for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Advises on and undertakes due-diligence and contract-negotiation efforts regarding third-party use of TJX data, in conjunction with Legal, Procurement, and other functions.
  • Stays abreast of privacy developments and best practices and helps adjust strategies and program designs accordingly.
  • Maintains focus on continuous improvement regarding all aspects of privacy, data protection, and records management.
  • Manages privacy-related projects as needed.

Who We Are Looking For: You.

  • 3-5+ years of privacy compliance or risk management experience with knowledge of global privacy laws including GDPR, CCPA and PIPEDA and related privacy assessments.
  • Bachelor's Degree required, law degree is a plus.
  • Certification related to Privacy and Data Protections (e.g., International Association of Privacy Professionals certifications) a plus.
  • Excellent judgement, leadership, interpersonal, communication, organization, prioritization, technical, process-improvement, influencing, and management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate and build effective working relationships with internal partners across the organization.
  • Experience handling privacy, data protection, and records management requirements for a diverse array of data, ideally with a broad global reach.
  • Experience instilling a culture of continuous improvement.
  • International experience is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and other Microsoft platform technologies (e.g., SharePoint).

This position has a starting salary range of $99,600 to $129,600 per year.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
