What you'll do

It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

  • Executing the first mile line haul (15-25k loads) operations across Canada which includes inter-DC's transportation, delivery to Service Centers and Cross Dock to ensure optimal flow of product at the best possible cost within budget.
  • Monitors and adjusts the line haul network on a nightly/daily basis to maximize on time performance
  • Establishes daily communication with transportation carriers, Service Center and DCs to plan appointments ensuring efficient flow
  • Schedules and manages the inbound and outbound operations determining appointment process in the 3PL sites to create efficiencies that can impact the bottom line
  • Tracks and analyzes line haul carrier performance across Canada to reduce flow delays
  • Day to day project lead of continuous improvement initiatives to improve First mile performance both internally and with carriers
  • Follows-up with carriers regarding lates and exceptions with development of improvement plans to ensure optimal service for DC's, Service Centers, and Cross docks

What you'll need

To begin your career with us, we require the following:

  • Minimum two to three (2-3) years related work experience, preferable in logistics, supply chain, dispatching, transportation, engineering, business is an asset
  • Post secondary degree in related discipline preferred (e.g. Business, Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain Management). CITT designation or The Logistics Institute (P.Log.) is an asset
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. Demonstrated problem solving skills including analysis of information (i.e. requirements, description of problems) with ability to provide solutions to effectively resolve issues
  • Ability to influence business partners, to build and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
  • Experience with Network Optimization Software, Dispatch Management Software and Fleet Software
  • Proficient computer skills in use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint or equivalent Knowledge

Salary Range: $58,910 - $82,472* /year

This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
