What you'll do

It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

  • Accountable for supporting TJX Canada's store sustainability initiatives and programs through assessing situations, recognize issues, and use judgment to create solutions that meet required standards. Responsible for all aspects of ensuring maximum rebates from Government / Utilities; action and coordinate impactful Sustainability programs; follow up for monthly maintenance accruals and service analysis
  • Dispatching Store service request to the correct vendors through the software portal system for a variety of issues, and ensuring that all services are implemented for maximum service and cost control
  • Researches and coordinates with external partners all aspects of government and utility incentive programs for HVAC and LED retrofits, including collection and tracking of all required documents and applying for incentives
  • Researches, tracks, and recommends actions for store Energy Consumption anomalies
  • Monitors potential government waste and recycling changes as required across the country
  • Initiates and supports engagement programs to encourage sustainable waste management behaviors and increase awareness of waste reduction and diversion in stores; collaborates closely with internal and external partners on waste/energy initiatives
  • Partners with external consultants to support department strategies that are focused on increasing waste diversion and waste reduction efforts

What you'll need

To begin your career with us, we require the following:

  • Minimum two (2) years related experience within facilities management, waste, energy and or sustainability
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures including Waste Management, Lighting, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC).
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to implement and manage details, prioritize, time manage and multi-task with limited supervision and sometimes under time pressure
  • Solid problem-solving skills which include the ability to respond to inquiries about merchandise as well as the ability to effectively and efficiently resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal abilities to perform effectively in a collaborative environment, where partnering with others and building strong working relationships are critical; building relationships with internal and external partners
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing needs of the business, and changing priorities
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization.
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000/year

This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
