What you'll do
It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key responsibilities of the role:
- Accountability for managing the overall operations of a Distribution facility for assigned shift ensuring operational and cost efficiencies, collaborating with Distribution Services (DS) network and providing guidance and leadership to teams to meet merchandising and production requirements.
- Directs Production Management team activities ensuring merchandise is routed appropriately and OPH and CPU targets are met while complying with established controls, turn time goals and operational health and safety standards
- Accountable for establishing short and long term strategies and building department business plans (staffing, financial budgets, KPI's) including identifying and addressing potential business challenges and obstacles; changes in forecasts and trends; develop alternative strategies based on facility capacities and constraints; competing initiatives simultaneously creating contingency plans where needed
- Collaborates with partners (Logistics, Planning, Merchants, Human Resources, DC Operations etc.) and external business partners (i.e. 3PL's) to identify opportunities, risks to sustain/improve flow and increase visibility to provide accurate outbound forecasts to DS network
- Responsible for overseeing merchandise flow, assessing and allocation of resources, identifying gaps and opportunities to improve receiving schedule with consideration to forecast variances and seasonal fluctuations; ensuring effective implementation of plans to meet production targets by collaborating with DC network management teams
- Assess and recommend viability of new opportunities (e.g. capital, equipment, processes, practices) that focusses on efficiencies, meets standards and network requirements, with cross-functional mindset, that encourages innovation and risk taking within the teams to continuously recommend production improvements
What you'll need
To begin your career with us, you'll have:
- Minimum 7 years progressive experience in Distribution (in retail or similar business) functional and technical areas with 4+ years supervisory/people management experience
- Experience with high volume, fast paced, labour intensive, constantly changing production atmosphere operations including unionized environment
- Demonstrated solid leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior management and positively influence management and staff to act in the best interest of the Company
- Excellent management skills including organizational, interviewing, negotiating, listening, conflict management and information gathering skills
- Strong people management skills including coaching, to provide advice and guidance to Associates in the resolution of problems; evaluating performance and providing feedback to team members
Salary Range: $106,590 - $161,364
This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
