Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and quality-focused Vials and Packaging Engineer to join our Process Engineering team in Uppsala. As a world-class company, we are committed to enabling our customers to create a healthier, cleaner, and safer world.

You will play a key role in developing and improving primary and secondary materials and production processes for our allergy and auto-immunity products. You will be part of a dynamic team engaging in diverse and exciting activities.

In this role, one of your primary responsibilities will be driving activities and participating in projects aimed at improving packaging materials and labeling processes. This includes projects such as introducing new tools at suppliers, validation and verification internally, productivity projects together with sourcing and R&D, and the development and implementation of new packaging labeling processes.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Complaint Investigator: Lead and coordinate investigations by collaborating with various teams, including Production, R&D, incoming inspection, QA, suppliers, and marketing companies.
  • Non-conformity Investigator: Responsible for conducting investigations related to packaging and labeling; handling affected batches, and implementing short and long-term corrective measures.
  • Apply problem-solving and root cause analysis skills to effectively address complex investigations, including CAPA.
  • Design and perform experiments both in small scale and in production to develop optimal processes.
  • Conduct extensive testing within production, review, and provide support for validation activities.
  • Take a lead role in risk management activities and change control initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements both within your own activities and within Production.
  • Drive our development within labelling and printing technology within production.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role for a period of two to five years.
  • Bachelor/Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluent in both English and Swedish.
  • Strong drive, organization skills, and ability to prioritize and plan work effectively with a systematic and analytical approach.
  • Excellent coordination and collaboration skills, with strong communication abilities.
  • High integrity and a strong emphasis on quality.

It is considered a merit if you have experience with ISO 13485, nonconformity of complaint investigations, production processes and packaging and labeling development.
