Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track the market dynamic including policy, regulations, funding, investments, biddings etc. to understand the market trend and the linkage/impact with Thermo Fisher business.
  • Analyze and report out market driven application trends as well as workflow opportunities in Academia end markets.
  • Understand customer needs within verticals, develop go-to-market strategy and action plan by bringing together a cross-functional, cross-portfolio team to drive breakthrough growth.
  • Apply ONE Thermo Fisher value propositions and build total solutions to showcase our outstanding capabilities and resources.
  • Develop high-value vertical marketing content to drive Academia vertical initiatives and cross-divisional alignment.
  • Identify and manage strategic collaborations with associations and KOLs to position us as a leading player by focusing on research fields, application areas and industrial hotspots.
  • Ensure alignment and communication of marketing plans & actions with division marketing and commercial partners.

Critical Competencies to Drive Business Results:

  • Portfolio/Solution Effectiveness

Understanding of Thermo Fisher entire portfolio applications in related verticals. Ability to explore the opportunity of Academia field expansion from research to application and industry. Ability to convert product offerings into solutions according to different customer clusters' needs.

  • Project Management

Project management, problem solving and analytical skills with an ability to perform especially well in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks to improve productivity and efficiency.

  • Marketing Effectiveness

Understanding of the financial impact and metrics of marketing to improve marketing effectiveness over time.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in analytical chemistry, material science, life science or related fields, advanced degree as a plus.
  • 7+ years' proven experience in academia industry of research and analytical solutions.
  • 7+ years' proven experience in marketing, product management or business development.
  • Validated vertical expertise in policies, technologies, competition & industry knowledge, and customer behaviors.
  • Good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, interact, and work with individuals and groups.
