Objective:

The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) will work with our customers, market development and Bioproduction sales teams to develop technical and commercial strategies to position Thermo Fisher's Single Use Technologies (SUT) capabilities within the Biopharma/Biotech sector, improving the sales of single use hardware, automation, and consumables for our business within the South Asia Region. You will be working closely with current and prospective customers to forge connections and build relationships. You will then use your specialist SUT knowledge to identify their specific SUT requirements and develop a tailored solution for their needs. You will develop and own the sales strategy for our SUT business within this region, developing in-depth knowledge of the market, our customers, and our competitors and utilizing this to open sales opportunities and drive business growth.

The TSS will also be the primary driver of business development at assigned major customer call points to penetrate and grow current and new business.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify customer opportunities, needs and requirements, drive business growth in Single Use Product Portfolio, Bioprocess Equipment & Automation both in the Biopharma & Vaccine business Segment .Be responsible for business growth target, by directly working with customers on selected portfolio focus.
  • Provide vital support such as technical proposal, on site seminars, and in-depth technology conversations with customers to acquire and retain customers.
  • Act as advocator to re-enforce Thermo Fisher Scientific's technologies and marketing messages.
  • Searches for new opportunities and uses product portfolio to build a foundation for long term growth
  • Drives existing funnel of opportunities to accelerate closure rates
  • Applies intelligence-based prospecting to identify new potential opportunities
  • Prioritizes New Product Introduction (NPI) prospects within territory to improve adoption rates and revenue return
  • Acts on marketing-qualified leads, quickly converting to new opportunities
  • Collaborates with and influences Bioproduction Account Managers (BAMs) and Field Application Specialists (FAS) within their district to develop and lead account growth strategies
  • Establishes and builds links with key decision-makers and identifies the technical buyers
  • Assists all BAMs within assigned territory with sales and account planning efforts to achieve sales goals, including value proposition development across the wide BPG portfolio
  • Aids in development of technical solution-matching for sophisticated opportunities
  • Attends technical teamwork visits to Business Unit manufacturing and R&D sites
  • Provides post-sales product support, follows up on all product performance complaints or inquiries to ensure resolution
  • Maintains and improves technical knowledge on assigned product lines, company literature, and driven Products

Education:

  • Master degree in a life-science related field required, such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Engineering
  • Experience:
    • 8+ years of experience in technical sales or a related field.
    • Hands-on expertise with DeltaV automation systems and single-use hardware.
    • Proven track record in project management and system integration.


  • Skills:
    • Strong technical foresight and ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical partners.
    • Exceptional communication, presentation, and social skills.
    • Proficiency in CRM tools

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of bioprocessing workflows and single-use technologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and quality standards in life sciences manufacturing.

Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of bioproduction workflow process development and scale-up and cGMP production.

Demonstrate validated understanding of the entire SUT product portfolio, including hardware & automation, flexible containment, and rigid containment. In-depth knowledge of the Biopharmaceutical market

• Well organized individual with ability to establish short and long-term business objectives and have a proven track record of measuring performance toward those objectives

• Dedicated approach and should showcase a history of crafting opportunities and encouraging new business

• Understand technical requirements of clients, find the best solution for the client, communicate important information inside the plant in order to identify production costs and prepare quotations.

• Facilitates the execution of the portfolio management strategy for a program of clients and/or projects.

• Strongly goal oriented and self-motivated, capable of working with minimum direction

• Communicates effectively, and is the 'connector' within the large matrix between customer, field application specialists, commercial sales team, product management, different sales teams, support, service, marketing, executive, and other salient groups to develop business.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their specific needs for single-use products.

Provide technical presentations and demonstrations of the Single Use Product Portfolio, highlighting integration with DeltaV systems.

Act as a trusted advisor, offering customized solutions that address client challenges.

Technical Expertise:


    Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to stay updated on new technologies and trends in single-use solutions and automation.

    Serve as a technical resource during troubleshooting, problem resolution, and system optimization.

    Project Management

    Manage end-to-end technical sales projects, ensuring timely delivery of proposals and solutions.

    Oversee system integration projects, coordinating between clients and internal teams. Monitor project progress and report key breakthroughs to partners.

    Pre- & Post-Sale Support

    Provide consultative support during the pre-sale phase, including feasibility studies and solution design.

    Offer post-sale assistance, such as system commissioning, training, and ongoing technical support.

    Ensure customer satisfaction by promptly addressing inquiries and concerns.

    • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
