Thermo Fisher Scientific is currently recruiting for a field based Technical Sales Specialist for Flow Cytometry & Antibodies. The successful candidate will have the ability to establish relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and life science customers, while positioning and selling relevant products across customer applications in an assigned geography in accordance with approved sales and marketing plans.

What you will do

  • Achieve or exceed sales quota and objectives by developing and implementing an effective territory business plan
  • Provide accurate business forecast for all the products in scope
  • Establish efficient working relationships with the local sales team and lateral functions (e.g. marketing, service, support, customer service)
  • Connect with Thermo Fisher Scientific sales teams operating in the territory
  • Develop a deep technical knowledge of assigned products within the portfolio of responsibility, as well as a strong solid understanding of the features and benefits of competition's products
  • Maintain contact with existing customers whilst promoting new innovative products
  • High motivation and energy level to prospect and develop new business
  • Coordinate and conduct technical seminars, evaluate, attend and support local trade shows and conferences whilst demonstrating flexibility to accommodate customer requirements
  • Develop knowledge of current and potential activities that may affect revenues. These include but are not limited to funding, market dynamics & end-user needs
  • Play an active role within the European Sales team to share leads, develop opportunities, share standard methodologies and improve business processes
  • Attend all required sales meetings and training sessions, and subsequently implementing new skills gained

Experience and Technical Requirements

  • Requires a minimum Bachelor's Degree (Master or PhD preferred) in Cell Biology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field
  • Requires minimum 1 year of professional selling experience
  • Experience in flow cytometry is desirable
  • Ability to develop technical knowledge across a broad range of complex products
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
  • Efficient problem-solving skills through implementation of negotiating and critical thinking
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven record of delivering excellent customer service
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Dedicated team member contributing to a fast-paced, innovative, and very dynamic field
  • Proficient in English, written and oral
  • Must be flexible and willing to travel in assigned territory (75% or more)
  • Driving license
  • The preferred home location for this role is northern half of France
