Position Summary

The Technical Sales Specialist Northern Europe plays a vital role in driving the promotion and revenue growth of our outstanding Pharma Workflow in Microbiology. You will collaborate with a dynamic team, including Account Managers, Inside Sales, and the Fisher Scientific sales force, to increase profits and market share. Your role will involve sales visits, supporting sales representatives, demonstrating technical expertise to provide flawless workflow solutions, developing new opportunities, and monitoring sales performance with accurate forecasting. You will also establish strategic business plans with Sales Managers to meet or exceed annual targets and grow market share.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Must be flexible and willing to travel between 60-70% in the assigned territory.
  • Requires understanding of commonly-used microbiology solutions in the Pharma environment.
  • Solution selling skills are essential.
  • Outstanding problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and training skills.
  • Clear vision of, and dedication to, providing outstanding customer partnership.
  • Dedication to collaboration in a fast-paced, groundbreaking, and dynamic field.
  • Must be self-directed and self-motivated to work at a highly technical level.
  • Must have a high level of proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Necessary to Perform Essential Functions

  • Minimum MSc/BSc or equivalent degree in Biotechnology, Biology.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Willing to travel extensively (60-70%).
  • High energy level or equivalent experience with the ability to take initiative.
  • Proven reasoning abilities with a clear capability to present solutions and exercise sound judgment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on processes.
  • Teamwork oriented with a collaborative style.
  • Clean driving licence.

Position Specific Criteria

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of direct experience selling advanced technologies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in delivering business presentations.
  • Ability to understand Microbiology Pharma workflows and build meaningful connections with customers.
  • Uses time and territory management tools effectively, develops and implements a detailed territory plan, and considers the territory in relation to other global sites. Provides accurate sales forecast information and maintains a solid sales pipeline. Drives tasks with minimal supervision and possesses an understanding of competitive trends.
  • Proven track record of teamwork and working well with support resources (e.g., marketing, management, FAS, R&D, finance, legal, production) to complete sales and service customers. Uses resources appropriately and provides detailed communications regarding specific customer needs or objectives, roles, and responsibilities for customer visits.
  • Motivated, goal-oriented, and driven by a desire for success.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Excellent clear and concise technical presentation skills.
  • General computer proficiency. Experience with Microsoft Office and knowledge of how to search for information on the internet required.
  • Use of internal tools.
