Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a Technical Application Scientist qPCR (m/f/d) who demonstrates exceptional work behaviors and drive to join our world-class Information Technology team. The preferred typical hours for this role would be 9a - 6p ET at the Grand Island, NY site.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical application support for quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) instruments and reagents
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully implement new technologies and products
- Provide flawless technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to customers
- Accurately record pertinent information from customer contacts in our Customer Relationship Management system and assist in the development of continuous improvement.
- Proactively determine customer needs and provide innovative solutions
- Keep up-to-date with the latest scientific advancements in qPCR technology
- Participate in training on products and continuing education on our new applications and technologies.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field, preferably in molecular biology or a related area, is minimally required. An advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of laboratory experience
- Proven experience in qPCR applications and troubleshooting preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent and proficient verbal and written communication abilities in English
- Bilingual in either Spanish, French, German, or Italian would be an added plus.
- Ambitious and self-motivated with a passion for driving innovation
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $60,000.00-$90,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
