Position: Systems Analyst

Department: Business IT Location: Inchinnan, Scotland -

Remote Working - Hybrid role with expectation of being on site 4 of 5 days per week.

Job Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join our Regional Systems team and provide support to our EMEA operations teams across sites in the UK, Netherlands and Norway.

In this role, you will take accountability for maintaining and improving the applications and systems used within operations departments such as manufacturing and quality. Your main focus will be on ensuring the smooth operation of critical manufacturing systems and processes, while also delivering new systems and tools through improvements and projects. This position offers an opportunity to give to the success of our organisation and work multi-functionally across our business partners and corporate IT partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day applications support for operations teams including manufacturing and quality departments.
  • Perform systems administration and analysis to ensure optimal support for critical systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand their requirements and deliver new systems and tools through improvements and projects.
  • Work closely with vendors and corporate IT teams to ensure accurate support and implementation of system changes.
  • Implement IT standards for changes and improvements, ensuring accurate documentation and consistency to change control procedures.
  • Develop and deploy repeatable processes and automated tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain documentation and knowledge base of application policies, processes, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • demonstrated ability as a Systems Analyst, supporting applications and systems in an operations environment.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing and quality processes and systems.
  • Proficiency in systems administration and analysis, with a focus on manufacturing applications.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and ITSM tools for change, incident, and problem management.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and basic database administration (MS SQL and/or Oracle).
  • Experience working on projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Superb communication skills to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams across EMEA.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to lead multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with O365 tools such as PowerBI and PowerApps.
