Data System Administrator III

The Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) has implemented Planview PPM Pro as a program and portfolio management tool for project status and resource reporting in new product development. Data from this tool is visualized and analyzed in Microsoft Power BI to enable data-driven decision-making across the division and within individual business units. The ideal candidate for this role will coordinate PPM Pro, enable future applications of the system, and enable accurate reporting.

  • Managing administration of a cloud-based Project Portfolio Management Application (configuration, API implementation, etc.).
  • Planning and implementing new features/functionality in the Project Portfolio Management Application based on inputs from internal customers and end-users.
  • Defining and executing test procedures, test scenarios, and test cases to validate functionality of new or existing features against requirements. Document and communicate the plan and results promptly to relevant internal customers.
  • Partnering with the corporate IT team and application developers to improve the functional performance of the application.
  • Providing recommendations for and implementing changes to existing business processes.
  • Managing an in-system ticketing system to address end-user requests within the defined SLA.
  • Ensuring that all reports and dashboards developed in the Project Portfolio Management Application and/or Power BI are functional, accurate, and published in a timely manner as per expectations.
  • Analyzing and detailing business processes-both functional and technical-within the system, including crafting and modifying standard operating procedures (SOP) and appropriate guidelines for end-users and Administrators.
  • Training end-users and Administrators on system and reporting features.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science from an accredited university/college.
  • Experience in the implementation and maintenance of sophisticated IT systems is required (Project Portfolio Management Systems-preferably PPM Pro/Innotas).
  • 5+ years of IT management experience in PM applications, owning the initiative for at least 1+ years.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of customer and system integrations.
  • Meticulous and organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with global colleagues.
  • 2+ years of experience in crafting sophisticated reports and dashboards in Power BI. Experience developing sophisticated calculations in Power BI/PPM applications.
  • Expertise with sophisticated functions and calculations in Microsoft Excel, as well as strong capabilities in other Microsoft applications, Visio, SQL, and Tableau.
