This position is based on our site in Uppsala, where Thermo Fisher develops, manufactures, and market complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma, and autoimmune diseases. System Test Engineer Opportunity
We are offering an opportunity for a System Test Engineer to join our Large Instruments engineering team in Uppsala. The Large Instruments team currently consists of 9 employees and 2 contractors with the overall design responsibility of our Phadia™ 250, Phadia™ 1000 and Phadia™ 2500 Series in-vitro diagnostics instruments. Our highly dedicated team has a wide variety of knowledge spanning from electrical and mechanical engineering to verification, assay, software and more.
As a System Test Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance of our advanced systems. Your proven experience in testing and resolving complex system issues will significantly contribute to the success of our products in the market.
Responsibilities
- This role consists of working closely with our supplier in East Asia (Japan) with upgrades and updates of our current instruments.
- Be part of development and breakdown of requirements for the controller software.
- Participate in development projects with our supplier to develop new versions of the controller software.
- Plan, perform and document actual testing of the controller software of the instruments.
- Perform and support technical investigations, tests and verifications of various types related to our instruments.
- Conduct system-level testing of our products to ensure their functionality and performance meet the highest standards
- Collaborate closely with different teams to develop test plans and strategies
- Identify and address issues while adhering to our documentation procedures
- Design and conduct test cases, ensuring thorough coverage of system requirements
- Continuously improve testing methodologies and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Offer technical assistance to individuals and organizations both within and outside of the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software/Electronics Engineering or a similar relevant background.
- Experience from working with sophisticated products consisting of software, mechanics and electrical interfaces, preferably with in-vitro diagnostics instruments and/or other types of medical devices.
- Product development experience, preferably of similar products types.
- It's a plus with experience from system verification (planning, coordination and/or execution)
- Team player with ability to work in a global environment with multiple interfaces and people with various competencies.
- Strong written and verbal communications.
- Good English skills is essential since communication interfaces for this role are global.
