The Supervisor of Manufacturing Engineering will report to the Manager of Product Engineering in the Single-Use Technologies Division (SUD) in the BioProduction Group (BPG) at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The successful candidate will lead approximately twenty-two drafters, documentation specialists, and other technical colleagues. This position will drive daily and special project work in the Product Engineering group, guiding design engineers, document engineers, sustaining engineers, and other technical colleagues.

The candidate will mentor and train colleagues in design work (drawing creation and costing) and deliverables (drawing release, specification launch, final approval). They will drive initiatives to unify the Product Engineering group and enhance operational excellence in delivering bioprocess containers. The leader will also collaborate with other business leaders in operations, project management, product management, finance, quality, and commercial.

The ideal candidate will possess deep industry knowledge and technical expertise in 2D, 3D, and fluid transfer assemblies for single-use bioprocess containers. They should be familiar with manufacturing processes, regulatory compliance, customer applications, industry standards, Autodesk AutoCAD, Salesforce, Oracle ERP, and manufacturing documentation.

Keys to Success:

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor of Science in a technical field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with bioprocess equipment (equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered).
  • Documentation: handwritten and electronic skills.
  • CAD: Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD.
  • ERP: Proficient in Oracle ERP for building BOMs, routings, and item masters.
  • Sales Software: Proficient in Salesforce sales operations software.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills to drive successful project closure.
  • Communication: written and oral communication skills.
